So why was Rodchenko such a revolutionary change?
Rodchenko changed the way artists thought about photographers, instead of them not being classed as artists, photographers were welcomed to the art industry.
The reason behind this was?
Rodchenko liked mixing up his photographs, he took photographs of different objects and places from different angles. These photographs really took the public and artists by suprise, as they had never seen anything like this before.
Picture review one
Rodchenko used a number of different techniques but the one that was noticed most and signed to Rodchenkos name, was his use of leading lines. He also used different angles to make the public notice his pictures and to make them stand out. People were taken back by his photographs only because they were so different so unique to the photographs being taken at that time.
In this photo the leading lines are the side of the ladder. What these leading lines do is make your eyes follow the lines until you reach the part of the image that the photographer wants you to look at the most (the focus point.) The use of leading lines in this picture leads you to the person hanging on the ladder.

Picture review two

This photo has been taken with extreme caution and Rodchenko has thought long and hard about the angle of his shot, by doing this he has created a sense of drama. Rodchenko has also used leading lines, the lines are diagonal in the picture which makes the viewer follow the staircase, due to these being the leading lines.
The main attraction that your eyes would be directed to is the woman carrying the baby because by following the lines your eyes would be attracted to where the woman's positioned. This is a result of the angle of this shot, the viewer sees a more dramatic scence. If Rodchenko had taken the image from the viewpoint of the women (i.e horizontally) the whole photo would lose its dramatic atmosphere. There is a bigger picture to see using a different angle as this includes more aspects of the pictures details, for example the baby in the picture. If Rodchenko had simply taken the photo from behind the woman, the picture would be flat and with little interest for the viewer to see. Rodchenko is versatile and creative with his use of the camera.
