Jerry Spagnoli
Jerry Spagnoli was born in New York in 1956, he is well known for his photographs of New York and the way he captures the drama.Using the techniques such as long exposure it creates a blurred effect by doing this he is able to capture whats going on. Spagnoli has also released books, two books explaining his work and the theory behind it.
In this photo Spagnoli has really tried to emphasise the light shining through the buldings, he does this by contrasting the colours. Spagnoli captures a normal day in New York, to do this he angles the camera as almost looking up at the buildings yet level with people getting on with their every day to day lives. Spagnoli also used a longer aperture creating a long exposure; this then produces a blurred effect on the cars.

Again Spagnoli has used the light in between the buildings only this time it generates a dynamic view, the setting is completely still yet the people are all still walking around. With a long shutter speed (creating a long exposure, with a high aperture this constructs a blurred effect.)
Spagnoli really tries to emphasize what is going on in the picture, he also builds a sense of life as you look throughout the picture. Jerry Spagnoli has used a number of techniques but one that is very significant and that is clear is his use of "The Rule Of Thirds" Spagnoli has directed the sun light burst right in the center of the picture and if the rule of thirds grid was on top of the picture it would show that using this technique really highlights the thought of which was going through spagnolis mind as he prepared and setup for this picture.
