How Does This Photo Shoot Fir Into Your Theme?
This photo shoot corresponds with the theme of work i have been given (depth of field) in this photo i have had to use the technique depth of field and aperture as well as my use of F-Stop. My theme of work is bmxing and skating photos (skateparks) therefore i have to add variation to my photos so they have characteristics about them.
What Were You Trying To Achieve In Your Photo Shoot?
During this photo shoot i was set a task to use depth of field and some of Robin Pearson's features in my photos, using other techniques from other photographers will advance my understanding of photography and improve my actual image taking. I tried using a high F-Stop and low
F-Stop as well as the rule of thirds.
F-Stop as well as the rule of thirds.
What Were You Influenced By During The Planning And The Photo Shoot?
I had to research a photographer that inspired me and they were into the same theme of work as me. After researching for a while i stumbled upon a photographer called Robin Pearson who had a great use and understanding for depth of field and the rule of thirds in photography (mainly his use of depth and field but he does use aperture as well) I began looking through his photos and digging deeper into the core information about Pearson's life.
What Did You Learn During This Photo Shoot?
Throughout the photo shoot i learnt that using depth of field and aperture at different angles can be extremely effective. I also learnt that if i use techniques together my images become more advanced and have a dramatic atmosphere and bigger character, meaning they have a lot more about them.
Do You Think You Were Successful In Achieving You Aim, Using Named Images To Illustrate Your Point?
My aim in this photoshoot was to get my photos to have some sort of link or relevance to Robin Pearson and mainly try to use depth of field and aperture in my photography as he does. I have used features from Pearson's work such as the rule of thirds, depth of field and some hints of aperture, I was also open to trying a variation of angles in my pictures as shown in pictures one and two.
What Didn't Work In Your Photo Shoot?
Nothing really didn't work out but it took me a few attempts to get it right although i felt that i had a good understanding of aperture and depth of field and the end of my shoot, even though it took me a few times to perfect my technique i am happy with the end product.
What Will Your Next Shoot Be Based On, What Have You Learnt From This Shoot?
My next shoot will be based around light and my use of exposure and a mix of techniques all together (light, flash, angles, exposure, light tracks and shutter speed.)
Do You Need To Research Anything Before Your Next Shoot?
For my next photo shoot i need to research a photographer who uses light and flash whilst photographing the same genre as me. I am also going to be thinking about my use of exposure so maybe a bit of research into that so that i am comfortable with the subject.
